You can create wall art for your home if you are on a budget. I wanted a large canvas art piece for my living room wall. Large wall canvas art is quite expensive. In looking over some of the gallery pieces in the store I told myself I could do that. I then went to the arts and craft store, but the blank canvases alone were quite expensive also, I looked over the construction of the canvases and then went to the hardware store and purchased some wood pieces that were the same width of the wood they used on the blank canvases in the art store.
I asked my husband to put the wood together, once that was done, I took a piece of thick fabric I had at home, and stapled it around the wood frame, I then painted the fabric with house primer and paint to make the material feel hard, then I got some paints and proceeded to become a makeshift artist, see images below, not bad for a amateur. Some of you my not have the patience for this, if you are not budget conscious as I am you can check out the art on Fabdecorators.com.

The Lampshade
I wanted a drum lampshade but I found them to be too expensive, one day I was in the home décor store and saw a white drum shade marked down to $5.00. The reason it was marked down was because it had a little dirt on it, I went ahead and purchased it and saved it with the intention of repurposing it at a later date. I cut all the fabric off of it to expose the frame, and then I proceeded to wrap ribbon around it and hot glue it. So you can be creative and crafty and repurpose some old item(s) in your home.

Cheap Home Makeover
FabDecorators presents a cheap way of making changes to your home, if you are tired of the way your home looks or need to give a room in your home a makeover the cheapest way is to start with painting the walls. Painting the walls can give your room a totally different look. You can go to the home improvement store and get color samples or you can get paints that customers did not pick up or did not like for less or paint that is on sale. Remember if you are looking for the more dramatic effect don’t be afraid to use bright and rich colors. Another cheap way is to add slipcovers to your sofa or chair and give your sofa a different look. Change out your throw pillows, put down a different rug add some wall art or change out pictures from other areas of the house. Don’t be afraid to take other items from other areas of the house. I remember my friend and I actually went as far as to exchange our furniture because we were bored with our décor. So you see there are ways to redecorate your home and not spend a fortune. Just be creative and spend more time than money on your decorating project.
